Nakasu Initiatives and Platforms

In the 2000s, in order to alleviate the chronic problem of traffic congestion in Nakasu, particularly on Kokutai Road (see image on the right), our association and member taxi companies established "voluntary rules," and since then, we have been conducting monitoring activities to ensure their effectiveness, 365 days a year.
On Nakasu Kokutai Road, where parking and stopping are prohibited except for when getting off, we have further reduced the number of taxis passing through and restricted the direction of travel in an effort to prevent backlogs and illegal parking and stopping, and are working hard to prevent traffic congestion.

Therefore,According to the Road Traffic Act, passengers are only allowed to disembark on the National Sports Festival Road in Nakasu, and passengers cannot board. Therefore, we are also working to develop and set up taxi stands in the surrounding area. The current taxi stand in Nakasu is as shown below in "Taxi Stands in the Nakasu Area," so please use this stand.

premium taxi

In November 2009, we launched the “Premium Taxi” service, aiming to deliver a higher level of service than conventional taxis.
This “Premium Taxi” was jointly planned by the Fukuoka City Taxi Association and the Hakata-ori Textile Industry Association. It was conceived not only to enhance taxi service but also to create a taxi unique to Fukuoka that contributes to promoting local traditional culture.
Featuring vehicles adorned with traditional Hakata-ori patterns and drivers offering Fukuoka's unique hospitality, the Premium Taxi is more than just a symbol of luxury or elevated service. It is a taxi that conveys Fukuoka's history, tradition, and culture—a ride available only in Fukuoka.
This project aims to be a memorable taxi experience: a pleasant mode of transportation for special occasions for local residents, and a “face of Fukuoka” for visitors.

The Fukuoka City Taxi Association has trained dedicated drivers for its newly launched “Premium Taxi” service. Only drivers who have completed comprehensive training covering customer service and other areas are granted the status of dedicated drivers.
The uniform consists of a black-based suit paired with a tie featuring a design inspired by the five-color Hakata-ori silk pattern. This creates a dignified and refined look.
We provide high-quality service to all passengers, including local Fukuoka residents as well as tourists and business travelers visiting Fukuoka.
