Aiming to be a taxi service loved by the local community
The Fukuoka City Taxi Association operates with the mission of the taxi business as its pillars: safe transportation and improving customer service.
Taxis provide door-to-door transportation "anytime, anywhere, anywhere" according to customer needs.
It is open 24 hours a day and plays an indispensable role in urban life.
As a public transportation company, we are making various efforts to provide safe and secure services to local residents.
We will continue to strive to be a taxi service that is loved by the local community.

History
History
- June 1956
- The Fukuoka District Taxi Association was established with 36 taxi operators in Fukuoka City.
- April 1957
- The name was changed to "Fukuoka City Passenger Automobile Association."
- June 1964
- It was approved as an incorporated association with 75 operators and 1,731 vehicles, and later merged with the Fukuoka City Surrounding County Association.
- July 1995
- The name was changed to the Fukuoka City Taxi Association, which is more appropriate for the current era, easy to understand, and friendly.
Today, the company has grown to include 91 corporations, 4,247 vehicles, and five private taxi cooperatives with 1,352 vehicles, for a total of 5,599 vehicles (as of the end of February 2023).
During this time, we have responded to rapid changes in the business environment, including booms and busts, the oil crisis, the spread of private cars, and the opening of the subway.
When holding conventions such as the Asia-Pacific Expo in 1989 and the Universiade Fukuoka in 1995, as well as other international conferences and international sporting events, we pooled all our resources in the industry and were highly praised by everyone for the transportation services we provided to users.
Character "Fukutan the Owl"
Fukutan is a red owl. A white owl, a symbol of good fortune, came to the city of Hakata and turned it a bright and lively red.
Wanting to help everyone in town, he became a taxi driver, giving rides to people in need.
Using their eyes that glow like lights even at night, they will rush to the scene whenever and wherever they are called to protect everyone in the city.
The name Fukutan comes from the romanized reading of FCTA (Fukuoka City Taxi Association), which is the abbreviation for the Fukuoka City Taxi Association.
The happiness-bringing "Fukutan" character rests on top of the logo, and this has become the symbol of our association.
It is our desire to be the "most familiar taxi" that always brings happiness and safety to our customers.
"Fukutan" is likened to the indicator light on the roof of a taxi, and the abbreviation for the Fukuoka City Taxi Association, "FCTA," is likened to the windshield of a car seen from the front.
We hope that this character and logo will continue to be loved and cherished by residents and visitors to the city as a new symbol of safety and good fortune for the city of Fukuoka.
